About the heat transfer coefficient used in Abaqus

About the heat transfer coefficient used in Abaqus

(OP)
Hello,

I'm doing a thermal analysis in Abaqus and I have a question about how the heat transfer coefficient is defined in Abaqus. When I select a surface, if I define the heat transfer coefficient as temperature-dependent, will Abaqus calculate the average temperature of that surface and then pick the corresponding value of h for the whole surface (average heat transfer coefficient) or it will assign different values for h at each location based on the local temperatures (local heat transfer coefficient)?

Thanks,
Danny

RE: About the heat transfer coefficient used in Abaqus

Abaqus will calculate an individual coefficient for each pair of element faces.
