Automatic translation of text in drawings

Automatic translation of text in drawings

Automatic translation of text in drawings

(OP)
I am looking for a way of taking a large number of drawings (AutoCAD2000) and automatically translating the text portions of the drawings from English into another language.

What are my options as far as single drawing processing or batch processing?  Is one method better than other?  Should I expect to do any additional corrections or adjustments to the text after the processing?

Is commercial software available to do this?

thank you in advance,

RE: Automatic translation of text in drawings

I would suggest Lexicon.
It is inexpensive and works better then any other conversion software I've used.
It does plain text and attributes.
http://www.cadalog.com/shareware
search lexicon and download.
Don't use the free shareware though, it is worth the small amount for the full capabilties.
good luck and have a good week-end.

RE: Automatic translation of text in drawings

One additional choice, we use use AutoCAD Mechanical 6(not Mechanical Desktop) and it has a built in translator. You may be able to upgrade from AutoCAD to Mechanical. I hope this helps.
