Bolt preload sol400

Bolt preload sol400

Bolt preload sol400

(OP)
Hi, for the first time I have to simulate a structure which have bolts preloaded.
I Have to join two plates (2mm and 3mm steel fyp=235 MPa) with two M5.
I've used Cbar as bolt shank and RBE3 to link the bolt to plates (I've tested rbe3 also).

I used a sol400 plus BCTABLE for the contact between plates, and applied a temperatute variation to simulate preload.

The problem is that the project plreload for the bolts is 6300N.

Is it too much to apply this preload to my plates?
The first result is 160MP, with preload only.

Is there same error in the model?

Is there are some consideration to do before simulate a bolt preload?

thanks
