Combo tool for intelligent inspection

Combo tool for intelligent inspection

(OP)
Hi everyone!
I'm dealing with a Contractor for the execution of an internal intelligent inspection with a smart pig of a 26" gas pipeline.
We agreed to execute such intelligent inspection as baseline for the future pipeline life just after the line hydrotest, when the pipeline is still flooded and we'll use an UT tool.
As far as you know is there any available tool (maybe a Combo one) able to detect in a single run both metal loss defect and crack-like anomalies?

Thx

RE: Combo tool for intelligent inspection

This paper implies that a UT pig can measure both wall thickness and cracks using two different banks of sensors, but could easily vary by supplier.

RE: Combo tool for intelligent inspection

Check with NDT, GE/PII, Rosen and Baker Hughes. Combo UT tools are relatively new (last couple of years) for this configuration, and I know only certain sizes available at the moment.
