Needed Help in Setting up Folder structure in Server for Solidworks EPDM Implimentation

(OP)
Dear All,

We are in phase of implementation for solid works EPDM in our organization, we have three different Location where user is accesing the CAD Data for different Project, and we want to make common folder for Standards library parts which is used at all three location, and some different Parts/Assembly.

What will be best suited Folder structure in solid works EPDM, where user can save their 3D data and its can access to all other user?

Any suggestion is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards
Asit Rathod

RE: Needed Help in Setting up Folder structure in Server for Solidworks EPDM Implimentation

RathodAsit,

Are your library parts going to be accessed from a separate drive? Why not check them in, and copy them out into the working directory?

Especially if you have large assembly models, you want everything copied into the most local file system possible, down to and including your C: drive. What if you need to drop everything onto a laptop, and work remotely? In SolidWorks, the only thing better than a fast network, is no network. Connecting SolidWorks to a server at a remote site is a way to ensure you do ten minutes of work every day.
