Saddle Wear Plates welded in TWO Segments (along the circumference)

Saddle Wear Plates welded in TWO Segments (along the circumference)

Dear members,
Is there any Code/Project Specifications restrictions on wear plates being in segments ( I mean along the circumference ). In my case, the wear plate is provided in two segments along the circumference but we maintained the wear plate angle as per saddle design. Off course, the joining butt weld joint is full penetration and radiographed before forming & welding to vessel exterior.
Our client has declined the segmental wear plate arrangement without providing any basis of rejection though ASME Inspector has no concern on the additional joint. Moreover, the additional seam in wear plate is nowhere covering the vessel main seams.

Appreciable an early response.

Any rejection must be explained, if not shall be an commercial topic.

It seems the part met Code and can pass. But it should have been presented to the customer for approval. I don't see any fixt other than replacing.

Yes GenB,
Actually it was a sllipage from my end also that I didn't took client approval.
The customer also complained about the same. Nevertheless, it was accepted as special case. And I also learnt a lesson to keep the client informed and take prior concent.
Anyway, thanks for you all's guidance.

Shanamo
