as anyone heard of a transformer/generator/or any electrical device becoming endothermic (temperature drop) when first turned on?

RE: tranformer endothermic

On a transformer, I would believe that you could hit a pocket of colder oil as it circulates around depending on where your thermometer was?

Aside from that, maybe stray flux on energization could be goofing up your measuring device?

ok thanks, my train of thought on this is, the mag field or electric field sucks in electrons from around it giving initial cooling yet this would be quick depending on surface area, i,ve been looking for some evidence, to date i have discovered a lithium ion battery behaves like this during charge. Just wondered if anyone has evidence of another device behaving the same

RE: tranformer endothermic

Many (nearly all) materials change temp when subjected to a magnetic field, a few material do it enough to actually measure it. This is somewhat related to magnetostriction (changing size in a field).
But in reality the values are very small.
