Split Quantity balloon

Split Quantity balloon

Split Quantity balloon

(OP)
Hi there,
How can we show balloons with split quantity of an item in an assembly drawing. for eg. I have an item with 10 quantity. I want to show that item balloon with 2,3 & 5 quantity each in different assembly views. Like we do in Pro-e/Creo.
I am using NX 9

Thanks.

RE: Split Quantity balloon

I have no clue how you use to do it in Creo or Catia or Solid Works or CADAM or CADDS 4X or ... system.
Sorry.

Regards,
Tomas

RE: Split Quantity balloon

text note beside it?

@Toost In Creo, you can use this feature by using "Redistribute balloon quantity" command. I wish if NX would have that feature too. NX has lot to improve.

@sammcc yeah that's an alternative. I agree. but I want quantity to be parametric/linked with Parts list.

Thanks for your posts guys. I guess I have to go with adding note beside balloon.

RE: Split Quantity balloon

I am still not sure that i understand what it is you want.
You want to place balloon #6 with quantity = 8 "here" and another balloon #6 with quantity = 7 on a different place on the same drawing ?
Correct ?
I do not think that this procedure is included in the ISO standard, is it included in your standard ?

Tomas

@Toost
Sorry bro, not much familiar with English. But you got me right. so Item #6 has 15 quantity in your case.

Suppose if there are 100 bolts used in an assembly. How will you show them in an assembly drawing? you cannot just put one balloon in a view showing Item no. "x" (bolts) has 100 quantity. You should detail out the each area in which they have used and show the corresponding quantity of bolts used in that particular area. A worker who is assembling the components on shop floor should come to know by looking at the drawing that I have to use xx quantity of bolts to assemble this part.

hope I am able to present my self well now!!
And I am sure, it is under ISO.

Thanks my friend

RE: Split Quantity balloon

It would be great if you could do this, but alas I do not believe it is possible.
I just put a text note by the balloon and make sure it is locked to the balloon.

However ... if you have 100 bolts all the same in one assembly then that's fine. (In fact congratulations on your component standardisation)!
The problem comes when you have 20 different bolts in 30 different lengths ... aaargh!!!
Just make sure the drawing is clear!

Hello Jon,
Appreciate your reply. Yes its not possible to split the quantity of item in NX. But only by putting a note beside balloon. which I ended up with.
I feel like NX is just amateur in case of Drafting. I wish I could go back to Creo/Solidworks.
