Array Of Independent Linear Actuators

Array Of Independent Linear Actuators

(OP)
Hello,

I'm trying to build a refreshable Braille display and I'm looking for an array of mini linear actuators that I can be controlled independently. Any ideas where I can find something like this?

Thank you.

RE: Array Of Independent Linear Actuators

Why not solenoid with suitable ferro magnetic spring loaded plunger.

Could be sprung down by default with the solenoid acting to pull it up when needed.

Not sure about a completely off the shelf solution but maybe you'll be lucky.

@KENAT won't the plunger just be pushed down when someone is trying to read the Braille?

@GregLocock I actually just got one and I'm going to try it. I'm just worried that it's going to be too loud, so I'm looking for alternatives.

RE: Array Of Independent Linear Actuators

Even if the pin can be pushed down, it can still be felt.
