I recently read in a thread that in NX 10 there is a way to remove the stupid TEXT...(yes stupid only cause I cannot get used to seeing it) but non the less ... PLEASE MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!

Without 'customising' every button to remove text, the only way I know how is to turn on the 'Slim Ribbon Style' dialog (see image).

There should be a suite of "customized no-text" buttons provided to swap for the OOB set.

Lots and lots of garbage on the screen now, the ribbon is getting in the way of REAL work, eh?
