Rebar Grades

Hi All,

Looking to see if anyone out there knows if CSA G30.18 400W reinforcing meets the requirements of ASTM A706 Gr. 60 deformed bars?

We need to try and spec a product for use in a cryogenic condition and all the texts I read are sending me to A706 but not sure if 400W is OK?

Thanks

RE: Rebar Grades

Do they give you the reason for the weldable spec? Is it ductility?

I'd personally consider the materials comparable unless they give you a specific thing you can check for.

Hi,

No I did not see a specific reason?

The CE (carbon equivalent) is the same 0.55 there is a small difference in some of the chemical percentages but very small.

They seem pretty close to us, just wondering if anybody knew for sure?
