Excessive distortion in modeling the three points bending specimen

Excessive distortion in modeling the three points bending specimen

(OP)
Hi all,

I was trying to modeling the crack propagation of three-points bending specimen. But a weird thing happened when the specimen was under loading. A very small number of elements were distorted excessively in the specimen(I don't think it is the problem of elements because all elements were set for the same kind and shape) and which led to the unconvergence of the problem. So I wonder whether you have met this problem before and how to solve it?

Thank you very much!
Jerry
