Creating Disjoint wires

Creating Disjoint wires

Creating Disjoint wires

(OP)
Hi everyone!

I have an assembly containing 2 imported parts (which have orphan mesh each). These two parts contain some coincident nodes. I want to create connections in these coincident nodes. But every time I try to create disjoint wires, I can select only one node (belonging to the same part), so I obtain the same node in "point 1" and "point 2" in my "create wire feature".

When I modify the position of the nodes of one part, i can select different nodes and so create the connection. The problem is that I have many connection points and I think (hope) there is a better solution to do this.

Any help please? :)

RE: Creating Disjoint wires

I think the issue is caused by the default selection method. It defines, that the entity closest to the screen is used when entities overlap. You can deactivate that setting in the Selection Toolbar.
See Abaqus/CAE Users Guide 6.3.3 Filtering your selection based on the position of the object

You should also check, if this tool can ease your work:

Thank for the response Mustaine3. The problem is solved by filtering the selection.
