Hello, We are trying to take RT on 4.5mm economizer tubes with Gamma rays and ASTM wire penetrameter in D5 film as per contract. But we are unable to achieve 5th with clearly and consistently. The SFD calculations are perfect.
Can anyone throw some light on this matter.

RE: RT on thin wall (4.5mm) tubes

You don't say if it is source side or film side IQI.
If it is source side IQI it should be a number 6 wire.

X-ray may be better

Hi DeDee,
Thank you. Source side. And 5th Wire is contractual requirement. Moreover, none of the wires are visible.

RE: RT on thin wall (4.5mm) tubes

Be sure the energy level is as ow as you can get it. I wouldn't go much above 100 KV.

Change your NDE contractor.
