Tune material properties by Shape optimization

Tune material properties by Shape optimization

(OP)
Hi All,

I work on soft tissue mechanics of an artery. I will be happy if you can suggest me if it is possible to perform in abaqus a shape optimization by calibrating material properties.

My problem is the following. I have the initial geometry (let say a shell) and the final shape of the deformed shell. Let assume anisotropic material properties, with known initial values of material coefficient parameters. The goal is find the best material coefficient parameters that lead to the final shape (that is known). Boundary and load conditions are known.

Is it possible?

thank you in advance for your help

best

RE: Tune material properties by Shape optimization

That is not a shape optimization.

Can you specify the difference of the current result to the desired result in numbers or a curve?
Then you can use Isight to do a parameter optimization. The goal is to minimize the difference in those numbers by modifying the material parameters. There is also a data matching option in Isight that automatically calculates the difference in two curves.
