Make the footing bigger, the load smaller or move to the center of the footing

Another option (if you are limited by a property line or other structure) is to counteract the overturning force by "strapping" to the nearest footing.

When the eccentricity is larger than L/6, it just means that the foundation edge may experience uplift. Either bearing soil and rock bolt is required if the structure is sensitive. In addition, the top surface of the foundation may experience tension and reinforcement should be configured correspondingly. You can also assume the effective width of the foundation is "L-some dimensions" so that the eccentricity is less than " L-some dimensions"/6 if the foundation and soil strength are acceptable
