Concrete Corbel - "Effective shear-friction Coefficient"

Concrete Corbel - "Effective shear-friction Coefficient"

(OP)
When designing a concrete corbel using the cantilever beam method do you use the ACI shear friction coefficients or the PCI effective shear-friction coefficients? ACI allows for larger coefficients based on the testing by A.F. Shaikh "Proposed Revisions to Shear-Friction Provisions", also see here LINK. However I'm not sure if this only applies to precast concrete.

Thanks!
