Dust from brushes in hydrogenerator with excitation system

(OP)
We have an hydro generator with static excitation system. There are 14 brushes on one ring, so the problem is how can remove dust from these brushes. The excitation current is 1150 A.
I want a simple solution. Is anybody which can help me?. Thanks is advance.

RE: Dust from brushes in hydrogenerator with excitation system

Suggestion: Upgrade your excitation system into a "brushless" system. That's the simplest I see.

RE: Dust from brushes in hydrogenerator with excitation system

1. Vacuum cleaner
2. Wipe with lint-free soft cloth
3. Repeat 1 & 2.

how are the rings seperated? I hope you know, but will repeat the caution; don't create free dust and a flash over
