Class 5000 ASME B16.5 Flange
Class 5000 ASME B16.5 Flange
(OP)
Hi guys,
Is there any standard that gives the dimension of Flanges of Class 5000# ASME B16.5 that i can refer to? I usually works with 150# and i have the B16.5 Standard to refer the dimension. Maybe my copy is the old one, but the it only cover until class 2500. Google search gives me the API 6A type, and i don`t know whether the dimension is the same. Please help me on this. Thanks in advanced.

ASME B 16.5 runs a "class" system which stops, and has always stopped, at class 2500. Although it varies with material and temperature at low temps and basic materials, this has a pressure rating of 6160 psi ( but can be a lot less).
5000 rated flanges normally refers to API 6A wellhead equipment where the 5000 refers to 5000 psig which appears to be valid up to 121C depending on the temperature range specified when ordering.
Dimensions are completely different between the two standards. For a 5000 type B flange you need table 51 of API 6A.
going from ASME class 150 to API 5000 design is a bit of big leap....

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

BLIND FLANGE 3.1/8" X 5000# RTJ ASME B16.5 A105 C/W 1/2" NPT
I haven`t got a touch with the client yet, and thinking maybe i should take a few information before making an inquiry regarding the class.
