hi Guys

Can anyone help me out with a material grade.

a customer is enquiring a casting in GRADE BS1456 B2.

this is a new one on me..... does anyone have a CHEMICAL & MECHANICAL for this grade please?

cheers

RE: BS 1456 B2

BS 1456 is a now inactive spec out of the United Kingdom - I have no idea what spec replaced it, if any. The material is equivalent to Type 1527 and is identified as 1.5% Mn steel castings. Composition is 0.25-0.33 C, 1.2 max Mn, 0.5 max Si, and 0.05 max P & S. No information listed on mechanical properties - they probably are dependent on heat treatment.
