nx cam - peck drilling, nx 10, example .prt file?

nx cam - peck drilling, nx 10, example .prt file?

Hi Guys,
could someone very kindly post up a .prt file with an example of a peck drilling operation for nx10 cam? Normally I play around with the settings and then the verify operation to see what is happening but for this operation I really can't work out what is going on. I would like to run a peck drill process (drill, retract a little, drill again)
and also not have the drill break through the floor of the material (just hit the bottom with the drill tip so as not to damage the vac plate)...

many thanks,
James

RE: nx cam - peck drilling, nx 10, example .prt file?

Hello James,
I recommend taking a look at the documentation on drilling for starters. There is a lot of info to get started then you decide if you want to use manual drilling for a few holes or get into something more elaborate and automated using features.

Although not nx10 I have attached a zip of some sample prt files and pdf from Siemens which clearly demonstrate some manual drilling in nx9.0.2. There have been some changes since 9.0.2 but the sample files have good examples of various drilling scenarios. By the way I would not use those old sample files for production.

10.0.3

Hi Tingsryd,
many thanks! Not exactly what I needed but very useful. I learnt a few things. I will keep trying and playing!

cheers,
James
