Data sources or technical references for HV transformer saturation curves

Data sources or technical references for HV transformer saturation curves

(OP)
Hello,

I am looking for any suggestions members may have for good data sources or technical references for typical saturation characteristics of HV transformers. We are looking for this information in order to carry out a preliminary transformer inrush / transient overvoltage calculation.

In particular, I am looking for any typical data that would be suitable for a 150 MVA 110/33 kV two-winding transformer. A colleague of mine is asking potential transformer manufacturers for this information, but while we wait for a response we would be keen to hear of any other data sources that might show what typical values (or ranges of values) can be expected.

Any assistance much appreciated!

RE: Data sources or technical references for HV transformer saturation curves

Contact any manufacturers of CRGO (cold rolled grain oriented silicon steel) eg Nippon Steel,POSCO,AK Steeletc who will furnish excitation characterostics of different grades of CRGO.

Thanks prc,

I found what looks some useful data on the websites of those manufacturers. Once we get confirmation regarding what grade of CRGO steel will likely be used in the transformer we should be OK.

Thanks again,
IP
