copy sheet metal part drawing to assembly drawing

Hi everyone,

I have one weldment includes sheet metal bend parts. the requirement is to detail piece parts also in weldment(assembly) drawing. I am able to detail the part in form view by hiding other parts one by one. Now the problem comes when it comes to detail the flat pattern. if I detail the flat pattern under individual part drawing, copy that view and paste it in assembly drawing, it works, till the individual part drawing is open in session, once I close them, open assembly drawing again, the flat view is gone. Is there any way to solve this problem, I know its not a good practice, but I have to follow the lead.

I work on NX/TC 9

Thanks in advance,
Suri

the same thing we can do in Creo very easily, by adding model of part in assembly drawing, and detail them by placing both form and flat views. After using Solidworks and Creo I miss lot of things in UG :(

yeah it worked. Thanks @mhugo. Now I can directly add the part views by selecting that part from the part drop down list while adding base view.
