nx cam 10 - multiple parts array in a flat sheet.. - how?

Hi Guys,
I hope this question in not to silly. I have a part that is modeled and ready to manufacture on my cnc milling machine. I want to cut 50 pieces of this part off a flat asheet. What is the strategy for this in cam? Do I make my array on my sheet in modeling and bring it into cam to make the operations there on the full sheet or is there a function to make my
array directly in cam on my single part?

cheers,
James

RE: nx cam 10 - multiple parts array in a flat sheet.. - how?

You can create instances of your machining operations in NX CAM. Right click on the initial operations and select Object - Transform. Select the type of transformation and number of instances. One thing to note, unlike instancing features in modeling you do not include the original in the Number of instances, it really should be called number of instanced copies.

There is a detailed explanation in the NX Help docs.

Hi John,
wonderful, thanks, that is clear. Is there any way to verify the full operation or is that considered not necessary?

cheers,
James

You can verify the operations just make sure the blank is big enough.
or use Vericut
