Irregular diaphragm problem

Irregular diaphragm problem

Irregular diaphragm problem

(OP)
Hi

I have a structure with a irregular distribution i'm using a steel deck like roof
i usually use colector beam in my projects, but in this case, i need other option

i was checking the SDI manual, but in all the examples a collector is the only solution that they use

i want to now your opinion, if i don't use a collector beam, can i consider the restraint like the image for the deck design? maybe some of you had have a case like this thanks in advance

please the attached image

RE: Irregular diaphragm problem

You need to justify the load paths. I recommend collector beams along each grid line where you want to resist lateral loads.

RE: Irregular diaphragm problem

What about topping the deck with concrete and designing the collectors with rebar in said topping?
