Edge constraints with Plane-stress

Edge constraints with Plane-stress

(OP)
According to SAP2000 documentation, Edge constraints work with all area element. However, I noticed that if I resolve the problem posted by CSI in this video using plane-stress, I can clearly see some gaps. Is there a way to fix this other than changing the element type to shell.

Thanks

What gaps? Please give more info and example

I mean gaps that happen when you have a mismatched mesh. The following picture shows that exact same problem, the only difference is the area element type (I set the analysis option to Ux and Uy only in both cases to get identical results).

Any ideas how to solve this?
