Effect of low silicon content in A732 IC1020 cast steel

Effect of low silicon content in A732 IC1020 cast steel

(OP)
We have some parts made of A732 IC1020 cast steel, however, the silicon content is less than the 0.20% minimum, actual content is about 0.10%.
Can anyone advise if this is going to have any significant effect on the properties of the casting?
Thank you.

RE: Effect of low silicon content in A732 IC1020 cast steel

There is a possibility of an exothermic reaction taking place during casting which could adversely affect integrity and chemistry. Since the casting does not meet the standard, why not reject it?

Do no waste efforts and time, justifying the non conformance. Reject it.
