The strange issue occurs while in History Free Mode

The strange issue occurs while in History Free Mode

(OP)
Hello all!
This issue was described on the Russian CAD message board and it is true, at least for my NX 9.0.3.4 MP8.
Try to do the following:
1. Create a new part and switch it to the History Free mode;
2. Then create two blocks with random dimensions;
3. Run Move Face feature under the synchronous modeling tab;
4. Select two faces: one face should belongs to the first block and one face - to another one, both of them should be moved in current Move Face feature;
5. Move both faces at any distance;
6. Press CTRL+T and move any block (move original) to a different place
I see, that the second block, which is not associatively connected to the one we moved - will move too (once again - we operate under the History Free mode). Is it a normal behaviour?

RE: The strange issue occurs while in History Free Mode

While that probably "shouldn't" happen, I'm guessing it's the same feature on separate bodies that is throwing it for a loop. It does the same thing when using Offset Face. GTAC should be informed because it's not behaving as one would expect, but the workaround, of course, is NOT to do this on 2 different bodies at the same time. I know, more mouse clicks....but that's the best it's gonna get until they fix it in NX9, which probably won't happen since NX10 and NX11 are already out there in which this issue may have been addressed already. I'd test it but I don't have NX10 or 11 available.

RE: The strange issue occurs while in History Free Mode

"History free" mode has been removed from NX 11; so, I guess in some sense it has been fixed. glasses

" "History free" mode has been removed from NX 11 "
Wow, i didn't know that.

I never did understand why we would like to have that , since the implementation of the Synchronous stuff was so smart.

I do however , on purpose, remove parameters of things once in a while. -Please hear this Siemens . smile

Tomas

I do too. Edit -> feature -> remove parameters. I've not checked NX11 specifically for this, but I don't think it has gone anywhere. Also, there is always the export part -> remove parameters or export/import as parasolid to remove model parameters.

Thanks for your answers, our local Siemens distributor said, that it is well-known "hack-alike workaround" started back to NX 8. The right way is to use Move Face and select all body faces instead of use Ctrl+T.
