Is there any limit for Preloading the piles in underpinning

(OP)
Hi All,
My project involve construction of structure below existing building base slab which is pile raft foundation. Hence underpinning required. This involves, mining and underpinning. While underpinning we needs to preload the underpinning piles. But not sure how many percentage of Working load can be used for Preload. Is there any limit? Currently for initial design I am preloading the pile 50%of Working load.

Kindly help on this.

Thank you,
Regards,
Ashok.
