Contact Pairs

(OP)
Hello,

I am new using abaqus and i have a problem when difining iteractions. I used to use Ansys.

I have this steel profil (see anex), enclosure in a concret block. I want to define automatically the contact between this 2 parts.

In Ansys there is an option to define this, with just 1 contact pair. But ... when i use find contact pairs in Abaqus, it defines all the contact pairs, in this case 12 contact pairs.

Is there any way to defini just 1 contact surface ? instead off all edges being contact surfaces ? I work with models with thousands of steel profils inside concret blocks, difining manualy this contact is very time consuming.

Thanks !

RE: Contact Pairs

Hi Eroque,

Maybe you can define all the surfaces in one set and latter try do create the contact using it having in account the tipe of interection that you are trying to modeled.

Good luck.
