Glass tube under pressure

Glass tube under pressure

Glass tube under pressure

(OP)
Hello Everyone.
I want to know about how to do design for Glass tube working under pressure both inside and outside. And how can i do certification (...Like U-Stamp)...means which code, directive or certification it require. Size of DN 200 and 10 Bar pressure for Borosilicate Material.

Thanks.

RE: Glass tube under pressure

I have never seen glass used with pressures above 15psig without full external support.
Considering that the only failure modes are brittle and catastrophic you have to be careful.

RE: Glass tube under pressure

Glass pipe is used at pressure. But a glass pressure vessel will be a very special animal indeed.

Have a look at Buchi.
