can i specify WWF for concrete road or should i use #4 bars?
can i specify WWF for concrete road or should i use #4 bars?
(OP)
I have a goby standard from our company for concrete road that uses WWF as reinforcement.
this is for a private road.
I'm looking at "public" concrete road standards I got online and they mainly use #4 or #5, etc.. instead of wwf.
is wwf still ok?

- jointed plain concrete
- continuously reinforced concrete
- and jointed reinforced concrete
your choice will be a function of your design criteria and also local conditions and practice. If you can, go with plain concrete as it is generally cheaper and just as reliable if constructed properly. My opinion of WWF for roads is that yes, you can do it and it will likely be a waste of money. Use bars instead.
