Delta-zig-zag (DZ0) transformer?

Delta-zig-zag (DZ0) transformer?

Delta-zig-zag (DZ0) transformer?

(OP)
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has experience or issue with delta-zig zag (DZ0) transformer on an HRG system. I would really appreciate if someone can recommend or share good reference on it on what to keep an eye on when using it.
Additional information regarding reliability will be useful.

RE: Delta-zig-zag (DZ0) transformer?

You may use a wye:delta bank with the primaries rated for line to line voltage. The secondary delta voltage is unimportant.
The wye point is grounded through the grounding resistor. The advantage is that off the shelf distribution transformers may be used. You don't have to wait for a zig-zag transformer to be designed and built. In the event of a transformer failure, a replacement will probably be available "Off the shelf".
