Working SW2001Plus SP6 killed by OfficeXP??

Working SW2001Plus SP6 killed by OfficeXP??

Working SW2001Plus SP6 killed by OfficeXP??

Hello
After installing Office XPSP-2 my Solidworks will not start. It wants to load VBA. Has any one experienced this?
Pointing to \\vba\vba6.msi brings up an error message stating it is the wrong version with a reference to VBA[2720]. Re installing SW does not resolve the problem.
Any thoughts?
Ralph

This is a new one to me, and I hope you have reported this to your VAR.

Sorry to ask (but sometimes we are blinded by the obvious): have you disabled your virus protection during install?

Thanks for the thoughts... The only virus checking I have activated is to scan incoming emails.  I should also have mentioned this is on a Windows98SE platform. I believe the problem is related to OfficeXP, I re loaded the VBA applications (or something like that) and there are references to the VBA[2720] during that installation.

I suspect I will be removing OfficeXP to resolve the problem and go back to Office 2K. So far I am not impressed and have been blessed with a number of "this don't work any more". Mostly with Access applications, have resolved those by upgrading to the latest Jet engines but for a SP-2 release this seems awfully buggy.

Thanks again
