Formula rearranging!
Formula rearranging!
(OP)
I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I am stumped.
I have some calcs to check, relating to a falling body onto a wire suspended platform. The aim is to check the equivalent impact force (P) in the wire. The calcs go as follows, and I can't figure out how the formula has been re-arranged
AE is a value provided by the wire supplier. The energy of the falling body 'U' has already been worked out and is known. It is then somehow subbed in as shown:
cable stretch d = PL/AE
Let energy U = Pd
therefore P = (UAE/L)^0.5
Basic algebra probably but I am found wanting. Sad panda!

RE: Formula rearranging!
U = Pd = P*PL/AE, then P^2 = U*AE/L
another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
