Assembly Contsrain on sketch

Hi All,

Is it possible to constrain assembly parts on to a sketch line ?

I'd like to test an few concepts and want to do this quickly without first having to make al kinds of parts.

???

Yes it is.

Thnx for the elaborate answer :)

I can't seem to make it work. I've drawn a sketch in the assemby. This sketch containing a line and an arc.
I've made a part with two holes into is. Now i like to attach one hole to the line and one hole to the arc.
So when i move the part the part follows the line and arc. Like the holes follow a path.

??

I could not find any good youtube instruction or something like that....

RE: Assembly Contsrain on sketch

Could you attach a picture of it for clarification?

It was quite an open question, that's why the short answer :)

Please find the attached pic.

The green part has to move along the arc and the line with the holes.

Now i've made two cutouts in the white part for mating the holes. Now i've made two touch constrains (the side of the cutout and the side of the hole)

I don't mind making the two holes in the green part but i'de like the center of the hole to follow the center of the two cutouts.

RE: Assembly Contsrain on sketch

Did you try using Touch constraint between the arc of the cutout and the hole centerpoint? That should do it if I understood right.

Ok that works is see. i did not have the center of the hole on the line itself.

When i have something like a path (line, arc, line, etc) can I contstrain the ceter of the arc to this path ?

Now i can't seem to connect to more then one piece of the line ?

RE: Assembly Contsrain on sketch

In case you have more than one object in the path I think you should in that case use "Join Curves" command to combine the different objects into one before using Assembly Constraints.
Tried it and got it to work like that.
