Geometric nonlinear constraint
Geometric nonlinear constraint
(OP)
Hi,
Ive been doing nonlinear analysis for the past 2 years, but with great concern regarding my constraints - I dont have a methodical approach for applying BCs.
Almost 100% of my work involves nonlinear geometry, materials and contacts, and most of the time I don't have prior knowledge of the loads in the system (most of the time the only "load" I have prior to analysis is the total displacement of one of the component undergoing analysis), which means I am doing a displacement controlled analysis. I have tried to create a "workflow" (like the 3-2-1 constraint methodology) but with no success.
Can anyone direct me to a text, or any reading material that will help me with this issue? any suggestions on the approach I should consider?
Thanks.

RE: Geometric nonlinear constraint
"where does the model touch/interface with the rest of the world ?" and then
"what loads could reasonably be expected at each point?" and finally
"re-assess if insufficient for rigid body motion"
another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
