Dimsensioning flat pattern bend lines

Dimsensioning flat pattern bend lines

Dimsensioning flat pattern bend lines

Hi All,

When having a sheet metal part without straight edges I found it hard to dimension the end point of the bending edges.
This because the snap easily wil select an other end point. Waiting on the quick pick can be an option but i'm wondering if it is possible to filter only for the bend edges ?
(please see the example attached, upper left corner of flat pattern)

RE: Dimsensioning flat pattern bend lines

Hi Lars,

Try Rapid Dimension with the Perpendicular option.
The first line will be the edge where the backgauge of the pressbrake will touch. The second line you click is the bend centre line (near the desired end point)

There you have a good and fast result.

I hope this helps.

BTW did you know that you can also get the Inside Bend Angle on your call out?
This is the syntax (case sensitive!):
'<!KEY=218935,3.2@UGS.includedAngle>'
<$s> will show the degree sign: e.g. 90°

The bend direction can also be visible as you can see;
Both line type as color can be set to be different.

Engraving text can also be highlighted (added top and bottom curves)

I think the press brake operators will be very happy!

Frank,

This is a welcome answer. For now i only tweaked the line type for the ben up and down line.

Maybe a color would be nice to.

Thnx.
