Charging batteries with a solar cell

(OP)
I am looking for information on how to use a solar cell to charge batteries that are driving a load, such as a DC motor.  Can the solar cell be used to charge the batteries when they are not being drained by the motor?  What are the limitations? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Charging batteries with a solar cell

Sorry about the late post.

My guess is you need to charge batteries on some type of robotic device.  What type of power requirements do you have and then maybe I could answer your question?  How large are your batteries?
