Looking for some feedback on people's experience with using VDM Alloy 31 in acid service, especially in wet process phosphoric and sulfuric acid manufacturing.  Has this alloy been around for awhile?

RE: Anyone using Alloy 31 in phos acid service

I'm not familiar with Alloy 31, but if you're considering replacement you might want to try Haynes C-2000 alloy, Alloy 59 (VDM?), or Alloy 686 (Special Metals).  Those along with Alloy 31 were suggested by a vendor to fix some corrosion problems we were having in a phos acid bearing line.
