Lateral Tortional Buckling Of Rafter???
Lateral Tortional Buckling Of Rafter???
(OP)
i am designing the cold form rafter (Cee Shapes) in STRAP Software.
So my question is that , there is one option/provision in software for continuous support of lateral torsional buckling and bending and axial compression so can i use this for design of my cold form rafter because roof purlin are connected after every 1m on top flange of cold form rafter?????

RE: Lateral Tortional Buckling Of Rafter???
To answer your question, I would conservatively take the unbraced length as 1m without running any numbers. In my opinion, I would be comfortable calling the member continuously braced if the fasterner spacing was 12" or less (again, just my own rule of thumb without running any numbers)
