Good morning

Anyone have info on the installation of insulating materials which will be hosted in ede ball bearings electric motors.

Best regards...

The intention is not clear.

Are you from the motor manufacture's side or from the user side?

If you are the user, just install the motor. Bearing insulation will be provided by the motor manufacturer, if you have already specified in the purchase documents. During the installation you have to only take care that the insulation is accidentally not getting bridged.

Hi...

Friend, I am user and I need to know what kind of material is insulation installed on ball bearings to prevent eddy currents.

Review the documents of the engine and there is no detail.

Where can I find that information?

Thank you

RE: Insulated hosuing bearing

The bearings are of standard design and construction. Actually, the bearing housing will have the layer of insulation. You should generally find it in the vendor drawing.

RE: Insulated hosuing bearing

That's not necessarily true. Rolling element bearings are available with a sprayed ceramic coating on the outer race which is electrically insulating.

ScottyUK (Electrical),
You may be right. But it will be exceptional.
Nevertheless, the majority of cases the bearings are standard. The insulation part will be taken care by the housing.

RE: Insulated hosuing bearing

If you are trying to backfit insulation into housing of an existing electric motor, see EASA Mechanical Repair Fundamentals section 15. Insulating materials mentioned include fiberglass tape and machineable epoxies on the circumference of the housing and DMD insulation at the cap. But there's a lot more that goes into a successful installation than just knowing the materials.

RE: Insulated hosuing bearing

We do retrofit insulated bearings in our shop. The easiest way is to insulate the bearing housing/end bracket bore after machining their bore and provide insulation collars for the both sides of the bearing outer race with corresponding modification of the grease cups /bearing caps.
