using arrangements or constraints to drive sequence?

using arrangements or constraints to drive sequence?

using arrangements or constraints to drive sequence?

(OP)
Hey Everyone ...
I have an assembly that is a set of linkages and sliders and a shock ----> think suspension set-up.

i have 3 arrangements made: 1) full extension; 2) 30% of shock travel; 3) full compression (65mm)

all these arrangements are driven 100% by a distance constraint in the assembly (0*65 / .3*65 / 1X65)

i am trying to figure out how to create a sequence (animation) from these arrangements ... hence the title of the thread.

can i drive the motion of the sequence between specific arrangements?
i know that you can extract arrangements during a sequence ... but my request is sort of the other way around

can i drive the motion of the sequence with actual assembly constraints?
aka: can i stroke the shock and see the kinematic of my suspension move??

thanks everyone

RE: using arrangements or constraints to drive sequence?

Geoff --

I don't believe there's a way to drive animation from arrangements, but given that your arrangements are 100% driven by an expression anyway, I'd suggest checking out the "Animation" function for this. You can use expressions (including expression-driven constraints) to do some really nice motion.

Does that help?
