DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

(OP)
Is there any direct way of make this function? I mean replace a subassembly by all its components in one single click.
This función is called "disperse" in Soliedge and "Dissolve" in Solidworks.

RE: DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

If i understood your idea - you want to substitute a subassembly by moving it components to the assembly level? If so - simply drag and drop subassembly parts to the desired structure level. Note that it would be neccessary to redefine the assembly constraints for moved components.

But if I do so, I think I modify the subassembly what I don't want to because I still want to use it in other assemblies.

By the way, redefine assembly constraints is a bit annoying because it is not needed in Solidedge (It keeps constraints between two components if you move both from one subassembly to other. I understand each software has its good and bad things but I think this could be a good improvement to future NX releases.

RE: DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

Javiduc,

Please do not consider me an ultimate truth, it might be that NX supports the feature you mentioned. I think NX would also keep constraints between two subassembly components, which moved upper, you should test it or wait for another tips.

RE: DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

After you move the components, do a save as on the work part then close the sub-assy and reopen the individual components.
Yes, re-constraining is definitely a bother.

RE: DISSOLVE/DISPERSE ASSEMBLY

Let me please bump this topic. Does anybody know a better way to organize subassemblies?
