Reset to global

(OP)
Hi,

I have placed one solid in layer no 1 and one more solid in layer no 2 in model. I used layer visible in view and turn off layer 2 in views(Ex. Top,bottom etc..). I want to show only layer no 1 in all views(EX. top, bottom etc..) accept in one view(Ex. Front) When i reset to global in drawing sheet layers 1 & 2 are visible back in all views. Please help out to resolve this.

RE: Reset to global

Once you have set the layer visibility mask, use View -> Operation -> Save As and save it as a custom view. You should place this saved view in drawing.

RE: Reset to global

Don't use "layer visible in view" on the modeling views, only use it on the drafting views. Each drafting view can be set independently with your desired layer view setting.

Cowski,

I am not using "layer visible in view" on the modeling views. I am using on drafting itself. I have set independently with desired layer view setting for each view, still if i reset global all layers are turning on each view. Please help me out.

RE: Reset to global

Use the 'layer visible in view' command on your desired view (in your example above, the Top view) and set layer 2 to be visible.

yes cowski, i tried what you said but when i reset global to that view(Ex. Top) layer 1 is also turning on.

RE: Reset to global

I don't know if this has any bearing on your problem, but if you don't want the layer scheme to freeze in it's current configuration hit cancel after resetting to global (instead of save). The active layers will be reset, but you aren't locked into the current layer settings as you would be if you save after resetting to global.

RE: Reset to global

Same like Cowski, I have no idea why are you using "reset to global" option?
