Level Indicator

Level Indicator

Level Indicator

(OP)
Please suggest best level indicator on storage tank
Application are Solvent + along with sticky material.
Solvent are methanol, Ethyl Acetate,SPDS.
Primary Purpose is avoid overflow of tank

RE: Level Indicator

Google Tank Level Indicator

A level indicator will not stop an overflow, you need some sort of interlock for that.

RE: Level Indicator

Try the top mounted radar level transmitter from Rosemount for fouling applications.

RE: Level Indicator

The poster asked for a level indicator not a transmitter, I assumed he was asking for a sight board or magnetic flag type.

RE: Level Indicator

Roydm, Am assuming the OP has used the word "level indicator" to mean a transmitter, since he is wanting to enable an inlet line shutdown on LAHH with this device.

RE: Level Indicator

We'll probably never know since he hasn't been back.

While I agree radar is a good choice for level I still prefer a bottom mounted DP cell for reliability perhaps with a backup level switch.
Cheers
Roy

RE: Level Indicator

what you need is LIT, Level Indicator Transmiter, in order to trasmit the signal to the control room asociated to an interlock to stop the flow of entrance of the tank controlling a valve, or stop a pump, depending of your system configuration.
a level indicator do not perform any action to stop the filling of the tank, the level indicator only shows the level of the tank in your control room (depending if it is in field or control room)
