this is constant elastic module E alloy. how about the torsional module G ?
thanks.

RE: NI SPAN C ALLOY 902

thanks.
but specialmetals talks about how to make E constant. did not talk how to make G constant.
my question is, will a coil compression spring to have a consistant load over temperature when made from ni span c ?

RE: NI SPAN C ALLOY 902

Call Special Metals and discuss with them.

Special Metals no longer manufactures this alloy. The only information I can offer is that in the attached bulletin.

(the same thing as you quoted.)

RE: NI SPAN C ALLOY 902

Since E and G are related to each other they must have the same temperature dependence. Both are really components of K bulk modulus (compression modulus).
Spring people know this since coil springs are designed based on G, but one ever measures it because it is related to E.
