Help - Bolt Material Selection

Help - Bolt Material Selection

Help - Bolt Material Selection

(OP)
Hello,

I'm trying to find the best bolt/stud material used for offshore cranes. ASTM 320/320M. Only exception they note on API-2C spec is the minimum average impact energy obtained from a set of three tests shall be 30 ft-lb. (40.6 Joules) with no single test value less than 22 ft-lb. (29.8 Joules). Test temperature shall be the lower of 0°F (−17.8°C) or 10°F below the lowest design service temperature.

Would L7M be sufficient for this testing?

Thanks

RE: Help - Bolt Material Selection

Yes, this material should make the impact requirements above at MDMT.
