Is there any way to turn off the suffix that NX puts on the end of the import (x_t) on each component name

Thanks

RE: parasolid import

and have no suffix ? No
Why do you want to do that ?

RE: parasolid import

If you don't mind flattening the assembly (all the components as bodies in the same part), you can use file -> import -> parasolid... Admittedly, this is a heavy handed way to get rid of the suffix (by getting rid of the component itself). glasses

Once in a while we will get a design outsourced from a designer that uses solidworks for example

I would like to keep it in my system as NX, but when importing it adds the suffix. I know we could use step but its a smaller file size from parasolid

You definitely should not switch to STEP just to solve this problem. The pathway from SW-->Parasolid-->NX involves no translation whatsoever, so it's always going to work better than some process based on translation to a neutral format.

RE: parasolid import

You could clone it to get rid of unwanted text as we discussed in a previous occasion.
