GEAR PROCESSING USING WIRE EDM

Hi!
I am currently working on a project which needs to cut a gear using the Wire EDM.
All the straightness and corner accuracy were accepted except for the cut-off area.
One requirement is to also smoothen out the cut-off area.
Copper strips and conductive adhesive did not work for holding the workpiece into place when smoothening the cut-off since the difference is approximately 10um.
Do we have proper way for doing this? Do we have other ways to hold the workpiece while processing the cut-off?
Attached is the image of the result of the gear that i processed.
Please help me.
